The oshoppu dictionary
デコDeco
The creative side.
Good paper, pleasing pens and small things that make desks, journals and everyday life more yours.
What does deco mean?
Deco comes from “decoration”. In Japan it appears in words for decorating and personalising all sorts of things, from journals and phone cases to sweets and accessories.
It is less about making something fancy and more about adding character. A sticker, a strip of washi or the right pen can turn an ordinary thing into your thing.
What it means at oshoppu
At oshoppu, Deco is our creative zone. It is stationery, stickers, washi tape, pens, stamps, memo pads and beautiful things for your desk.
It also has the most direct line back to where oshoppu began. Before the plush, figures and enormous shipments, there were a few rolls of Japanese washi tape and a very small Etsy shop.
You do not need to be an artist. Liking a really good sticker is qualification enough.
